Valencia Regional Emergency Communication Center
Los Lunas, NM
The Valencia Regional Communications Center (VRECC) was created in 2007 and outgrew its space. The nine work stations, equipped with monitors and mapping, needed to expand because of the volume of inbound land line and wireless 911 calls.
The new structure is located in Los Lunas, NM and includes a large training room, a 5,336 square foot dispatch area with 13 stations and enough room to add five more stations, a break room, fitness room, offices, storage rooms, lobby and reception area as well as courtyards.
Some of the new equipment includes more monitors for GPS monitoring of law enforcement, medical and fire, a new computer-aided dispatch software program and an information lighting system.
SDV was awarded the ABC Excellence in Construction Eagle Award for this project.
